Zinfandel Dinner
How would you like an elegantly prepared
seafood dish served alongside four of the
best Zinfandel wines in California? The Pittsburg
Seafood Festival would like to extend an invitation
to you to participant in the 11th Annual California
Zinfandel Championship Competition and Dinner
to be held on Friday evening, September 7,
2007, sponsored by Discovery Homes.
The 11th Annual California Zinfandel Championship
Competition and Dinner will be held in the
Wine Pavilion Tent, under the stars at the
edge of the delta, as the opening event of
the Pittsburg Seafood Festival. You can join
the festivities and enjoy tasting the four
winning Zinfandel wines and a wonderful gourmet
dinner especially prepared by Scott’s
Seafood of Walnut Creek, to complement the
taste of fine California Zinfandel.
All Zinfandel producers in California are
invited to participate with over 100 wines
entered. The preliminary blind tasting is
held mid-July. The four wineries who earned
Double Gold Medals in 2006 were Battaglini
Estate Winery, 2004 Zinfandel, Old Vines,
Proprietor Reserve;Consilience, 2004 Zinfandel,
Rhodes Vineyard, Mendocino County; Rotta Winery,
2003 Zinfandel, Estate-Giubbini Vineyard,
Paso Robles;Trentadue Winery, 2004 La Storia
Zinfandel. These wineries will be invited
to attend the dinner to receive their awards.
During the dinner the judges will be served
the four top winning wines blind and will
choose the Grand Championship winner.
The cost for the Dinner is $70.00 per person.
Tickets are sold on a first come, first served
basis, with a limit of 350 seats available.
Last year’s dinner sold out quickly,
